new WikiTouch 1.7 release

We’ve just submitted the new WikiTouch 1.7 release to the app store.

We’ve added a bunch of cool new features such as:

  • export notes to pdf files. If you run iOS 3.2 or later, you’ll be able to save some of your notes as pdf files. Exported files will be available from your Files tab so that you can share pdf with your computer to print some notes.
  • protect critical notes with password. If you decide that some of your notes are critical enough and should be viewed only by you, just add the tag [password:my_password] into each note you want to protect, save it. You’ll have to enter the correct password to view this note. To remove the password protection, just remove the password tag from your note, it’s as easy as this.
  • new “back to previous note” button is now available directly from the note toolbar
  • linkify twitter name and search. If you enter @name or #topic in your note you will automatically be redirected to the associated twitter page

Our new WikiTouch 1.4 release is now ready for download. WikiTouch now supports the iPad and File Sharing, so you can copy/paste attached documents between your computer or iPhone/iPad thru iTunes. Obviously, you can still do it using Sync over the Cloud, as usual. We also fixed a couple of bugs reported by you guys. Thank you again for using WikiTouch and tks for great feedback we receive every day.

WikiTouch - How to sync notes between iphone and computers

WikiTouch makes it easy to synchronize personal content between your iPhone and your computers. Here is how it works:

1. You don’t need to install any additional software on your computer, as WikiTouch support standard web browsers running on Mac, Windows and Linux.

2. You can choose to create, edit or delete a note from your iPhone, and after synchronization your updates will appear on your computer’s web browser. Here is how to synchronize your notes from your iPhone.

3. If you prefer, you can also create, edit or delete a note from your web browser by just visiting http://wikitouch.com and after synchronization your updates will appear on your iPhone. You can have a full access to your wiki from your web browser, including attaching photos, videos and document files to your notes.

4. Synchronization is done over the Internet and works using any wifi or 3G network. Unlike other products, WikiTouch is not restricted to sync over your local area network, you can sync notes between your iPhone and your work computer remotely.

5. Synchronization is done using our WikiTouch Tracker Server which is running in the Internet Cloud. Our server acts as an Internet cache in order to store and relay your personal data between your iPhone and your computer.

6. You can synchronize your personal wiki between multiple computers, with no limitation, as data transit via our Tracker Server.
